English to Arabic Numbers: frequently asked questions

Is this converting to Arabic numbers or Hindi numbers?

The output is Arabic-Indic digits (٠١٢٣٤٥٦٧٨٩), which many Arabic speakers call Hindi numerals. The digits 0 to 9 you start with are the Western Arabic numerals often called English numbers.

Are the decimal point and commas converted?

No. Only the digits change, so 3.14 becomes ٣.١٤ and 1,000 becomes ١,٠٠٠. If your style requires the Arabic separators ٫ and ٬, replace them after converting.

Does it convert digits inside links and codes?

Yes. Every digit from 0 to 9 is converted wherever it appears, including inside links, email addresses, product codes and model numbers. Paste only the part that should change, or fix those items after copying.

Can it produce Persian digits?

No. It produces Arabic-Indic digits only, so you will not get the Persian forms of 4, 5 and 6 (۴ ۵ ۶). The text is converted in your browser and is not uploaded.
