Wi-Fi QR Code Generator

Enter your network name and password, and this tool creates a Wi-Fi QR code that guests scan with their phone camera to join without typing anything. It supports WPA, WEP and open networks, hidden SSIDs and passwords with symbols, and the code is generated in your browser, so your password is never sent to Rabetly.

Your input and files stay in this browser. They are never uploaded to Rabetly.

How to create a QR code for your Wi-Fi

  1. Type the name in the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) field exactly as your devices show it, including capital letters and spaces.
  2. Choose the Security type: WPA for almost all modern routers, WEP for very old ones, or nopass for an open network.
  3. Enter the Password, and tick Hidden network if your router does not broadcast its name.
  4. Adjust the size and colors if you like, then click Generate QR code.
  5. Download the PNG or SVG, test it with a phone, and print it where your guests can see it.

Who uses a Wi-Fi QR code

  • A café owner placing a Wi-Fi QR code on each table so customers connect without asking staff for the password.
  • A holiday rental host framing the code by the door so guests get online as soon as they arrive.
  • An office manager putting the guest network code at reception and in meeting rooms.
  • A family sticking the code on the fridge so visiting relatives join the home network with one scan.

How this tool works

Generate a standard code locally in your browser, preview it, and download PNG or SVG without creating an account.

Wi-Fi QR Code Generator: frequently asked questions

Do iPhone and Android phones scan Wi-Fi QR codes?

Yes. The built-in camera app on current iPhones and most Android phones recognizes the standard WIFI: format this tool uses and offers to join the network. Older phones may need a separate QR scanner app.

Which security type should I choose?

WPA in most cases, because it covers the WPA and WPA2 settings used by nearly all home and business routers. Choose WEP only for a very old router, and nopass for an open network, in which case no password is stored in the code.

Is my Wi-Fi password uploaded or stored?

No. The code is generated in your browser and the password is not sent to Rabetly. Remember that the password sits in plain text inside the QR code, so anyone who scans it can read it; print it only where you would share the password anyway.

Will a password with symbols work?

Yes. Semicolons, commas, colons, quotes and backslashes are escaped automatically as the Wi-Fi QR format requires, so the phone receives the exact password. If you later change the password, create and print a new code, because the old one will stop connecting.
