Private QR and barcode tools

QR Code Reader

Choose an image that contains a QR code, and the reader decodes it and shows the full value as plain text with its detected content type, such as a website, Wi-Fi network or contact card. Decoding happens in your browser and links are never opened automatically, so you can check a code before you trust it.

Your input and files stay in this browser. They are never uploaded to Rabetly.

Upload a code image

Reads QR codes from a local image. It does not open decoded links automatically.

The decoded value will appear here.

How to read a QR code from an image

  1. Take a screenshot or photo that shows the whole QR code clearly, including its light border.
  2. Click Choose an image to read and select the PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF file.
  3. Read the Decoded value in the Result panel, together with the Detected content and Detected format.
  4. Check the address or text carefully, then copy it and use it only if you trust it.

When to use a QR code reader

  • Someone who received a QR code as a screenshot in a chat and cannot point their camera at their own screen.
  • A cautious user checking where a QR code on a parking meter or flyer really leads before visiting it.
  • A designer confirming that the QR code in a print file still holds the correct link before sending it to the printer.
  • A desktop user reading the Wi-Fi details or contact card stored in a code without reaching for a phone.

How this tool works

Generate a standard code locally in your browser, preview it, and download PNG or SVG without creating an account.

The decoder runs only after you select an image. Decoded data is displayed as untrusted text and is never opened automatically.

QR Code Reader: frequently asked questions

Can I scan a QR code with my camera here?

Not as a live scanner. The reader decodes an image file you choose; on a phone, the file picker usually also lets you take a new photo, and on a computer you can save a screenshot of the code and upload it.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The decoding engine runs in your browser and reads the image locally, so neither the picture nor the decoded value is sent to Rabetly.

Is it safe to open the link inside a QR code?

Only after you check it. The reader shows the full value as plain text and never opens it, so look for misspelled domains, unexpected short links or payment requests before you visit it.

Why does it say no QR code was found?

Usually the image is blurry, too small, cropped through the code, or low in contrast. Use a sharper image that includes the whole code with its border, and note that one code is read per image.
