How to create a WhatsApp QR code

  1. Type the number in the Phone number field in international format with the country code, for example +966 50 123 4567.
  2. Optionally write the text that should appear ready to send in the Message (optional) box.
  3. Set the QR size (px), Quiet zone, Error correction and colors, or keep the defaults.
  4. Click Generate QR code, then scan the preview with your phone to confirm the right chat opens.
  5. Download the PNG or SVG and add it to your packaging, menu, flyer or shop window.

How should I write the phone number?

Write the country code followed by the number without its local leading zero, for example +966 50 123 4567. Spaces, dashes, brackets and the plus sign are removed and a leading 00 is dropped, so the link uses 966501234567; a number typed without its country code will open the wrong chat.

What link does the WhatsApp QR code contain?

A wa.me click-to-chat link such as https://wa.me/966501234567. If you add a message, it is appended as ?text= in URL-encoded form, so Arabic text and emoji arrive intact.

Is the prefilled message sent automatically?

No. Scanning opens the chat with your text already typed in the message box, and the person can still edit it before tapping send.

Does the person scanning need to save my number first?

No. The wa.me link opens a chat with your number directly, without adding it to their contacts. They only need WhatsApp installed on the phone they scan with.
