Private text and Arabic writing tools

Character Counter

Paste or type your text and the character counter shows how many characters it contains right away, both with and without spaces. It counts what you actually see, so an emoji or an Arabic letter carrying diacritics counts as one character, and all of the counting runs in your browser.

Your text is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded to Rabetly.

Write or paste your text

Up to 200,000 characters and 20,000 lines are processed locally.

How to count characters in a text

  1. Paste your text into the Your text box, or type it there.
  2. Read the Characters total in the Result panel; it changes as you type or delete.
  3. Use Characters without spaces when your limit ignores spaces, and check Sentences and Paragraphs in the same panel.
  4. Shorten the text until it fits your limit, then copy it from the box to where it will be posted.

When to use a character counter

  • A marketer keeping a page title or meta description short enough to show in full in search results.
  • A social media manager checking an Arabic caption or bio against a platform's character limit before posting.
  • An applicant answering a form question whose box accepts only a fixed number of characters.
  • A store owner fitting a product name or SMS message into a field with a strict length limit.

How this tool works

Characters are counted as user-visible graphemes where possible, so emoji and combined Arabic marks are handled more naturally than raw code units.

Example

Paste a social caption to check its character count before you publish.

Character Counter: frequently asked questions

Are spaces counted as characters?

Yes. The Characters total includes spaces, tabs and line breaks. Characters without spaces leaves out all of that whitespace and counts only letters, digits, punctuation and symbols.

How are emoji counted?

Each emoji counts as one character, including combined emoji such as family groups and flags, because the tool counts characters as they appear on screen. Some platforms count an emoji as two, so their total may be slightly higher.

Do Arabic diacritics count as separate characters?

No. A letter and the harakat on it are counted together as one character, so كِتَابٌ counts as 4 characters, the same as كتاب.

How much text can I check at once?

Up to 200,000 characters and 20,000 lines. The text is counted locally in your browser and is not uploaded to Rabetly.
